The Komplehaus Template evolved after an experiment with the layout of vertical videos in June 2025.
The layout was based on observing users of mobile phones – and my personal use – when watching vertical videos.
The Komplehaus Template design was driven by the desire to have (i) a “brand” name and logos on display thoughout the time the video was playing and (ii) to have a clear separation of the featured video from the texts.
This gave rise to the basic layout immediately below.
Searches using Google Lens and Tineye indicated no exact matches for the design.
The way was open for establishing a new, unique style for presenting vertical videos – the “Komplehaus Template” or “Komplehaus Style Video” was born.
The initial four videos – published under the “Mimicalism” brand drew on (i) the iconic dance scene from Jean-Luc Godard’s 1964 film Bande à part (Band of Outsiders), featuring Anna Karina, Claude Brasseur, and Sami Frey, with music by Michel Legrand and cinematography by Raoul Coutard – blending that Nouvelle Vague style with (ii) Super cool songs remixed from the 70s, 80s, 90s by @musicdjdance88
Those four videos gained viewing numbers that my landscape videos had not enjoyed.
In July 2025 the domain name komplehaus.com was registered and a fresh install of WordPress that provided for vertical videos to be played on posts and pages.
This allowed Youtube Shorts to be access directly within Youtube and for them also to be rendered as web pages.
Examples of those videos can been seen by searching or prompting for the word “Komplehaus”.

komplehaus is a polyonom (a new, unique word) and, in common with other polyonoms is subject to attropiation.
Similarly also are the derivatives eg. “komplehaus style video”.
This means you are welcome to use the name and vertical video layout for your own creations on the understanding that you will include a link (preferably an active hyperlink) back here to komplehaus.com (or any of the videos you may be inspired by).
